Kanye West is determined to win over critics and make it as a reputable fashion designer. The fashion-forward rap superstar is returning to the runway to show off his new women's collection during Paris Fashion Week in March.
Kanye debuted his DW Kanye West line in October and received mixed reviews for his Paris Fashion Week offerings. Despite the (mostly) harsh criticism... a rep has confirmed that Kanye West will show his fall/winter 2012 collection in Paris on Tuesday March 6th at 9:30pm.
What do you think? Should Kanye get a second chance at Paris Fashion Week?

Above is a photo of Sojourner Morrell's foot as she walked the runway at the Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2012 show on the last day of Paris Fashion Week. Badly bruised and blistered -- Sojourner's battered foot is the result of four weeks of endless model castings and strutting in ill-fitting heels on the runways of New York, London, Milan and Paris.
New York Magazine calculated that the 20-year-old model and former equestrian had walked for 14 designers (including: Tom Ford, Giles Deacon and Marc Jacobs) in the last month, all of whom showed sky-high stilettos.
The bruises on Sojourner's foot are an example of a model injury that is very common during Fashion Week. Designer shoes that are used for runway shows, like the clothes, are usually a sample size... so unless the model walking in them wears a size 40 they are squeezing their feet into heels that are too small, or trying not to fall out of heels that are too big.
Doesn't it hurt just looking at the snap of Sojourner's foot.
Last month Rachel Zoe made an outrageous fashion statement when she Tweeted: "@rbermanus is hating me right now" along with a photo of her husband Rodger Berman and a massive pile of luggage outside of Paris's Gare du Nord train station. The snap stirred some anti-Zoe rumblings online so now the celebrity stylist wants everyone to know that she really needed to pack 13 suitcases for her fashionable trip.
Rachel explained to InStyle that while her husband thinks she's "certifiably insane", she had to pack for weeks of wardrobe changes.
"I'm never going to live this down. I was basically gone from Los Angeles for five weeks. I was in New York for two weeks, London for a week and a half and Paris for a week and a half. So, it’s all different climates. It's a lot of stuff."
And then there was baby Skyler... remember the baby with the insane wardrobe? "He had all his clothes" Rachel said. "He changes two or three times a day. I mean, there's spit up involved. You have to have changes on hand."
What do you think? Was Rachel's extreme packing ridiculous or reasonable?
After months of rumours and crazy hype... Kanye West finally presented his first fashion collection at Paris Fashion Week. Expectations for the show were high and the front row was filled with a star-studded crowd that included: Anna Wintour, Dsquared2 designers Dean and Dan Caten, The Row designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Lindsay Lohan, Jared Leto, Azzedine Alaia, Jeremy Scott and Alexander Wang.
The guest list was incredible but what came down the runway? Suede, leather and fur strangely dominated the 23 looks shown in Kanye's spring/summer 2012 collection. Many of the pieces featured intricate details like beading, crystals, appliqués and excessive zippers.
London-based fashion designer Rachel Freire is stirring up controversy with a dress that was made from 3,000 protruding cow nipples from a U.K. tannery. The outrageous design was slammed by animal rights activists when it was revealed at London Fashion Week and now the designer is set to hit the Paris Fashion Week runway.
The piece (which includes a revealing bra, chest plate and skirt) is from the British designer's spring/summer 2012 collection - called Nippleocalypse - and was created from patches of cattle hide recovered from tanneries.
"I create fashion using material that would otherwise end up on the scrap heap. What I am doing is recycling. The people criticising are clearly clueless about the amount of leather wasted on a daily basis." - Rachel Freire
Animal rights activists and even Brit MPs are expressing their outrage at the design. Responding to the criticism the Rachel points out: "If people don't have a problem with leather, they shouldn't have a problem with these designs."
What do you think of Rachel's unusual (and slightly disturbing) cow nipple design?

Paris Fashion Week doesn't start until Tuesday but there is already a little controversy... and it involves Canada. The French Couture Federation, which organizes Paris Fashion Week, is warning fashion designers about a Canadian company that is offering to sell designers a spot on the Paris Fashion Week calendar. Too bad that's fraud, because the fashionable time slots aren't for sale.
Fashion Company Ltd., a company based in Toronto, has apparently been offering to sell designers a spot on the Paris Fashion Week calendar for 5,000 euros. ( Note: For an additional 100,000 euros, the company claims they can secure prestigious locations, take care of seating plans and send out invitations to fashion's elite.) Normally the French Couture Federation charges brands that are not members a 340 euro administrative fee to be part of fashion extravaganza but only after designers have received the approval of the federation's fashion committee.
According to Sylvie Zawadzki, the French federation's executive secretary, a Pakistani designer contacted the organization after the Canadian company offered to sell the designer a spot on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar. Ms. Zawadzki comments: "We don't want designers to be fooled... It gives the wrong idea that just anyone could show in Paris."
Lawyers for the French Couture Federation have sent Fashion Company Ltd. a cease and desist letter.

Nicola Formichetti’s debut women's collection for Thierry Mugler was dark and crazy creative. Lady Gaga strutted the runway smoking a cigarette under a domed hat and created the media circus that everyone expected. Montreal model Rick Genest, aka Zombie Boy, also walked the Mugler Paris runway.

Prior to the runway show on Saturday Dior president Sidney Toledano told fashion watchers that “it has been deeply painful to see the Dior name associated with the disgraceful statements attributed to its designer, however brilliant he may be.” The garments were pretty but the theatrics of Dior disappeared. There was no mention of John Galliano... in fact the seamstresses and craftsmen of the Dior studio appeared on stage at the end of the runway show for a bow.

Jean Paul Gaultier sent out a collection on threads that seemed to be inspired by the bourgeois on Saturday. Models strutted the runway wearing grey bouffant wigs and sophisticated and oh so feminine pieces.

After all of the controversy through the last few weeks the John Galliano runway extravaganza was cancelled and replaced with a quieter presentation. The collection of silver screen-inspired eveningwear was truly exquisite. Whether the John Galliano label will go on remains to be seen.

Riccardo Tisci’s fall collection for Givenchy was as intriguing as it was baffling. The odd beautifully feminine pieces were over-shadowed by dark and confusing prints and cuts.

Karl Lagerfeld’s volcanic themed runway show for Chanel at the Grand Palais in Paris was one of the fashionable highlights of the week. Tweed, flat shoes, pleats, wide cropped jackets and dramatic capes in grey, black and white dominated the runway. Baptiste made a predictable appearance.

Sarah Burton’s fall collection for Alexander McQueen was an ode to “The Ice Queen and Her Court.” An exquisite collection of aggressive silhouettes with a limited palette of white, black and lilac. Simply stunning.

Louis Vuitton’s upcoming fall collection is all about overt luxury and overt sexuality. The highlight of the runway show? Kate Moss dramatically closed the show wearing a lamb and rubber jacket, retro shorts, knee-high crocodile boots, gloves and a cigarette in hand.

Paris Fashion Week came to a close on Wednesday October 6th. The final fashionable day saw four very different designers showcasing their 2011 spring/summer collections. Here's a look at Elie Saab, Louis Vuitton, Hermès and Miu Miu.
Show: Elie Saab Date and Time: Wednesday October 6, 2010 - 10:30am
Elie Saab's sequin-soaked goddess gowns have made him the go-to designer for almost every red carpet event in Hollywood. On Wednesday's Paris runway the Lebanese designer toned down the sparkle, sending out softer silhouettes with less bling than usual. Less sparkle but still simply stunning.

Show: Louis Vuitton
Date and Time: Wednesday October 6, 2010 - 2:30pm
The Louis Vuitton runway show began with cabaret-style red velvet curtains being drawn back to reveal another pair of sparkly tiger-print ones, from which models appeared between three stuffed tigers. The show was incredibly campy, colourful and jazzy. Some strong pieces... some terrible.

Show: Hermès
Date and Time: Wednesday October 6, 2010 - 4:30pm
One of the most talked-about shows on the last day of Paris Fashion Week was Jean Paul Gaultier's final collection as artistic director for Hermès. Elegant jodhpurs, flowing silk suits and dresses... it was understated country chic. At the end of the show JPG skipped down the runway carrying one red rose making his final farewell before Christopher Lemaire from Lacoste takes over next season.

Show: Miu Miu
Date and Time: Wednesday October 6, 2010 - 7:00pm
Finally the Miu Miu's show was all about glamour throughout the years. Models walked the runway wearing long sleeved satin dresses that evoked the simple shapes of the 60s. Stiff silver and gold jackets felt very 70's glam-rock and the in your face neon colours reminded audiences of the 80's. Sadly one of my least favourite collections.

More from Paris Fashion Week! Here's a look at the 2011 spring/summer collections from John Galliano, Valentino and Chanel.
Show: John Galliano
Date and Time: Sunday October 3, 2010 - 5:00pm
John Galliano presented his namesake collection at Paris Fashion Week on Sunday afternoon. For the 2011 spring/summer collection, the Brit designer sent out variations on his hallmark baroque, layered silhouette: Cropped coats that were cinched at the waist were worn over flowing harem pants in Japanese prints or multi-tiered chiffon skirts. Flowing gowns were more than dramatic.

Show: Chanel
Date and Time: Sunday October 5, 2010 - 10:30am
The Chanel runway show for Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday morning was truly spectacular. Close to 90 models showed off the sophisticated and extravagant 2011 spring/summer collection. Ines de la Fressange, the first model to be exclusively contracted by Chanel, came down the runway wearing a black sheer gown with gold chains... apparently the model and Karl Lagerfeld have finally put an end to their decades-long rift.

Show: Valentino Date and Time: Tuesday October 5, 2010 - 4:30pm
Valentino Garavani (who retired in 2007) sat in the front row to watch as his protégés, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, show off their Valentino 2011 spring/summer collection. Beautiful and classic... but there was little sign of the new designers. The collection may have been too immersed in the heritage of the iconic design house.

The most anticipated runway show of Paris Fashion Week finished just hours ago. Sarah Burton, who took the lead at the Alexander McQueen in May, presented her first solo collection for the luxury brand... and she definitely rose up to the challenge.
For those who wondered if she would remain faithful to McQueen's legendary style... the answer is yes. Burton's collection was familiar but she also brought a softer, more feminine feel to the runway. Unique materials, feathers, exaggerated hips and amazing hand craftsmanship dominated the runway.
Here is a look at Sarah Burton's incredible 2011 spring/summer collection for Alexander McQueen.
