Trends, trends, trends! Here's a look at 3 different trends that dominated the red carpet at the 54th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Anything but basic black:

2012 Grammy Awards - Black Dresses

These black gowns were anything but boring... Rihanna (Giorgio Armani), Adele (Giorgio Armani), Alicia Keys (Alexandre Vauthier), Giuliana Rancic (Georges Chakra couture), Julianne Hough (Kaufman Franco) and Corinne Bailey Rae (Christian Siriano).

The jungle dress that still has everyone gawking and talking. In 2000 Jennifer Lopez made headlines around the globe when she hit the red carpet of the annual Grammy festivities wearing a tropical, flowing Versace gown that featured a plunging neckline.

Mitch Winehouse slams Jean Paul Gaultier's Amy Winehouse-inspired couture collection

Earlier this week Jean Paul Gaultier presented his spring 2012 couture collection in Paris. The runway show was an ode to Amy Winehouse and the fitted pencil skirts and corset dresses were an obvious nod to Amy's love for Fifties fashion. Today the late singer's father, Mitch Winehouse, is speaking out and is telling the press that the runway show was terribly upsetting for him and his family.

Jean Paul Gaultier's couture collection hit the Paris runway on Wednesday, just two days after the half-year anniversary of Amy's death. While Gaultier admitted that he had never actually met the singer, he explained that their "styles were similar" and the runway extravaganza was intended to be a "joyous" tribute to her iconic sense of style.

Mitch fired back and told British newspaper The Sun:

"The family were upset to see those pictures, they were a total shock. We're still grieving for her loss, and we've had a difficult week with the six month anniversary of Amy's death. To see her image lifted wholesale to sell clothes was a wrench we were not expecting or consulted on. We're proud of her influence on fashion but find black veils on models, smoking cigarettes with a barbershop quartet singing her music in bad taste. It portrays a view of Amy when she was not at her best and glamorises some of the more upsetting times in her life. That's upsetting for her family."

Mitch isn't the only person speaking out against Jean Paul Gaultier's Amy Winehouse tribute. Kelly Osbourne hit Twitter insisting that her late friend would have disapproved and called the French designer's tribute "lucratively selfish and distasteful".

10. Versace for H&M madness

2011 - Fashionist year in review - 10 - Versace for H&M Madness
[Above: Who expected the global hysteria surrounding the debut collection of Versace for H&M? Ummm... everyone.]

Forget the Missoni for Target collaboration that famously crashed target.com... the craziest fashion collaboration of 2011 had to be the Versace for H&M extravaganza that hit stores on Saturday November 18th. After months of serious hype, Donatella's vintage Versace-inspired collection hit select H&M stores across the globe. Celebs wearing the most sought after pieces, overnight lineups, in-store madness and eBay markups followed. Viva Versace!

Jean Paul Gaultier feels sorry for John Galliano and thinks that Anna Wintour is 'monstrous'

The always outspoken Jean Paul Gaultier is at it again. Recently JPG sat down with The Independent and chatted about everything including his thoughts on John Galliano and US Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

When asked about the John Galliano scandal, the 59-year-old French fashion designer insisted that it was pressure which caused Galliano to make anti-Semitic and racist comments in France earlier this year. "John is very talented. He has done some beautiful things for Dior. I think it is completely sad that he doesn't have his own label anymore. I think it's bad. There are some people who say and do terrible things and they are not even punished for it". John Galliano was found guilty and lost his jobs at Christian Dior and his eponymous label after the scandal broke but JPG hopes that one day he will return to the world of fashion.

As for Anna Wintour? Jean Paul Gaultier joked that the formidable fashion editor is "more monstrous" than Meryl Streep's character in The Devil Wears Prada saying "Anna Wintour is a lot more monstrous than she is described!" When asked if Vogue's Queen is a positive figure... JPG was a little more evasive. "She is a figure" is all he would say.

Mugler creative director Nicola Formichetti presented his sophomore men's collection on Thursday afternoon in Paris... campy costumes (with little sidewalk appeal) dominated the runway. Classics-with-a-twist dominated the runway at the 2012 spring/summer Louis Vuitton runway presentation. Jean Paul Gaultier's quirky 2012 spring collection for men featured an abundance of Hawaiian prints... some cool... some questionable.

The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts is hosting an incredible exhibit of the work of celebrated French couturier Jean Paul Gaultier.

The "Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk" is the first exhibition devoted to the work of Jean Paul Gaultier and it's already a huge hit. The musem opened the doors to the exhibit less than a week ago and it will run until October 2nd before embarking on an international tour that will include San Francisco, Madrid and the Netherlands.

Inside the museum there are more than 140 ensembles (created between the early 1970s and 2010), from the designer's haute couture collections and his pret-a-porter line. The pieces have, for the most part, never been exhibited before. Along with the impressive runway creations the Montreal JPG exhibit includes sketches, stage costumes, concert clips from artists like Madonna and Kylie Minogue and excerpts from films and runway shows.

Entering the museum, visitors are welcomed by Gaultier himself - well a talking mannequin wearing nautical stripes that looks and sounds like Gaultier. It's not the only animated mannequin either... the blue-lit grand entry features numerous animated mannequins who wink, blink and speak. One is dressed in the crocheted dress worn by Kylie Minogue in her "Like a Drug" video projected during a past concert tour while another mannequin is wearing the mermaid-inspired dress that Marion Cotillard wore to the Oscars in 2008.

"Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk" is organized in six themes: the Odyssey of JPG, the Boudoir, Skin Deep, Punk Cancan, Urban Jungle and Metropolis. Haute couture works of art throughout the exhibit are accompanied with detailed explanations... like what collection the piece is from, who wore it and how many hours it took to create. One of the many highlights? The iconic corsets from Madonna's Blond Ambition tour that can be found in the Boudoir.

Here's a closer look inside the "Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk" exhibition.

46-Year-Old Kristen McMenamy Stars In The Jean-Paul Gaultier Fall Ad Campaign

After strutting down the runway at the Chanel Cruise show last month wearing a black and white one-piece bathing suit... Kristen McMenamy is starring in an upcoming ad campaign for Jean Paul Gaultier.

The ads for the Jean Paul Gaultier fall/winter collection for women feature the 46-year-old model wearing a printed blouse, cropped jacket, leather skirt and a pair of killer heels. Of course Kristen's trademark waist-length gray hair is everywhere.

While a crop of young models have been dominating the runway and popping up in countless ad campaigns lately... it seems that some brands are still looking to enlist a little help from a veteran model.
