Across the Atlantic the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards presented the 65th annual BAFTA Awards on Sunday night.
Here's a look at a few of the fashionable celebs who walked the red carpet.
Above: Michelle Williams wore a strapless H&M Bespoke ivory-and-black gown by H&M, Penelope Cruz wore a strapless Armani Prive gown with a draped details and Viola Davis wearing a custom Valentino one-shoulder gown.
Sunday night Madonna hit the stage for the 2012 Super Bowl halftime show and brought the house down with a melody of some of her biggest hits ("Vogue", "Music" and "Like A Prayer" along with her new single, "Give Me All Your Luvin'"), crazy choreography and some serious couture.
Madonna's Egyptian goddess-inspired Super Bowl wardrobe came courtesy of stylist and costume designer B. Akerlund, who has previously worked with the pop icon on many of her music videos. Madonna rode into the Indianapolis stadium on a massive chariot wearing a custom headpiece by Philip Treacy and a Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy haute couture gold cape that was hand-embroidered with gold metal, studs and crystals. She removed the elaborate cape to reveal a black Givenchy couture minidress with a hand-studded python belt, a pair of over-the-knee stiletto Miu Miu boots, embroidered nappa leather gloves and 19.6 carats of white gold and diamond earrings by Bulgari. Madonna soon ditched the elaborate headpiece for gold cheerleader pom-poms... and closed the black and gold fashion-filled extravaganza wearing a black sequined Givenchy couture robe.
The performance consisted of 500 outfits including head to toe looks for surprise guests LMFAO, Nicki Minaj and MIA (wearing Fausto Puglisi and Erickson Beamon headpieces) and Cee-Lo Green (wearing a sequined robe and studded Christian Louboutin loafers) as well as costumes for a troop of dancers (some wearing Jeremy Scott for Adidas) 100 drum line performers, 150 gladiators (wearing Calvin Klein underwear) and 200 choir singers.

This morning Heidi Klum and Seal confirmed that they are separating. The couple married on May 10, 2005 and have 4 children together (Seal adopted Heidi's daughter from a prior relationship shortly after the wedding and the couple had 3 children during their almost seven years of marriage). They released the following statement to People earlier today:
"While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.
We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.
We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy."
Heidi and Seal were truly one of Hollywood's most fashionable couples. Here's a look back at 25 of Heidi Klum and Seal's most memorable red carpet moments.

The 2004 CFDA Fashion Awards
June 2004
In one of their first red carpet appearances as a couple, Seal accompanied Heidi to the 2004 CFDA Fashion Awards at New York Public Library in New York City. Heidi gave birth to her first child two months earlier and stunned at the awards bash wearing her favourite colour... red.

10. Versace for H&M madness
[Above: Who expected the global hysteria surrounding the debut collection of Versace for H&M? Ummm... everyone.]
Forget the Missoni for Target collaboration that famously crashed target.com... the craziest fashion collaboration of 2011 had to be the Versace for H&M extravaganza that hit stores on Saturday November 18th. After months of serious hype, Donatella's vintage Versace-inspired collection hit select H&M stores across the globe. Celebs wearing the most sought after pieces, overnight lineups, in-store madness and eBay markups followed. Viva Versace!
Gisele Bundchen hit the beach for Givenchy's 2012 spring/summer ad campaign accompanied by a couple of models, a black pick-up truck, surfboards and a dog.
Gisele Bundchen, Chris Moore and Simone Nobili were shot by superstar photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott for the label's Gothic-style spring ad campaign that was just released.
Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci described the ad campaign atmosphere as "the expression of a love story between a surfer and a mermaid."

Kanye West (and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons) marched alongside other protestors at the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York City wearing some pricey threads. The rapper-turned-designer showed up wearing a Givenchy plaid shirt ($355 US) and a pair of super pricey Balmain jeans. Topping off Kanye's ensemble to protest corporate greed? A gold "Yeezy" name plate from his Paris fashion show earlier this month.
Only Kanye.

Heidi Klum is always one to watch on the red carpet and now the supermodel is revealing her 10 favourite red carpet dresses.
"Looking back over old photos, I don't regret any of the outfits I've worn, because each of them is a great indicator of my personality. I am a woman who likes to take chances and surprise people with the unexpected... Critics may not always agree with my choices, but ultimately, I dress to impress me." -Heidi Klum
Here are the 10 red carpet looks that Heidi selected as her personal faves from over the years.
A champagne coloured J. Mendel gown worn to the 2006 CFDA Awards. A short and sparkly Ungaro dress worn to a Victoria's Secret fashion show. A white Roland Mouret dress worn to accept a Peabody Award for Project Runway. A sequin Roberto Cavalli dress worn to Elton John's Oscar Party.
Milan Fashion Week finished last Tuesday and the next day the boys started walking down the runways in Paris showing off upcoming fall fashions.
Here's a look at some of the highlights from Paris Fashion week.
Wednesday June 22, 2011 and Thursday June 23, 2011
(L-R: Mugler, Louis Vuitton, Balmain and Jean Paul Gaultier)
Mugler creative director Nicola Formichetti presented his sophomore men's collection on Thursday afternoon in Paris... campy costumes (with little sidewalk appeal) dominated the runway. Classics-with-a-twist dominated the runway at the 2012 spring/summer Louis Vuitton runway presentation. Jean Paul Gaultier's quirky 2012 spring collection for men featured an abundance of Hawaiian prints... some cool... some questionable.
Friday June 24, 2011
(L-R: Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent and John Galliano)
Riccardo Tisci offered bold patterns on many of the pieces within the 2012 spring/summer Givenchy collection. Stefano Pilati’s Yves Saint Laurent collection was filled with strong-shouldered tailoring in navy, white and khaki. Disgraced John Galliano's successor, Bill Gaytten, offered a stomp through the Pop Art scene of London in the 60s for the spring/summer John Galliano collection.
Saturday June 25, 2011 and Sunday June 26, 2011
(L-R: Dior Homme, Hermès, Lanvin and Paul Smith)
Kris Van Assche celebrated "the art of tailoring" with a Dior Homme collection that was heavy on cream suits that looked like toiles. Hermès offered relaxed dressing with a sophisticated touch. Alber Elbaz presented a Lanvin spring/summer collection for men that mixed military and bohemian styles. Paul Smith offered a sporty touch with their 2012 spring/summer collection.

Christian Dior
Friday March 4, 2011
www.dior.com
Prior to the runway show on Saturday Dior president Sidney Toledano told fashion watchers that “it has been deeply painful to see the Dior name associated with the disgraceful statements attributed to its designer, however brilliant he may be.” The garments were pretty but the theatrics of Dior disappeared. There was no mention of John Galliano... in fact the seamstresses and craftsmen of the Dior studio appeared on stage at the end of the runway show for a bow.

Jean Paul Gaultier
Saturday March 5, 2011
www.jeanpaulgaultier.com
Jean Paul Gaultier sent out a collection on threads that seemed to be inspired by the bourgeois on Saturday. Models strutted the runway wearing grey bouffant wigs and sophisticated and oh so feminine pieces.

John Galliano
Sunday March 6, 2011
www.johngalliano.com
After all of the controversy through the last few weeks the John Galliano runway extravaganza was cancelled and replaced with a quieter presentation. The collection of silver screen-inspired eveningwear was truly exquisite. Whether the John Galliano label will go on remains to be seen.

Givenchy
Sunday March 6, 2011

Riccardo Tisci’s fall collection for Givenchy was as intriguing as it was baffling. The odd beautifully feminine pieces were over-shadowed by dark and confusing prints and cuts.

Tuesday March 8, 2011

Karl Lagerfeld’s volcanic themed runway show for Chanel at the Grand Palais in Paris was one of the fashionable highlights of the week. Tweed, flat shoes, pleats, wide cropped jackets and dramatic capes in grey, black and white dominated the runway. Baptiste made a predictable appearance.

Alexander McQueen
Tuesday March 8, 2011

Sarah Burton’s fall collection for Alexander McQueen was an ode to “The Ice Queen and Her Court.” An exquisite collection of aggressive silhouettes with a limited palette of white, black and lilac. Simply stunning.

Designer John Galliano has been officially fired by Christian Dior. Last week the Paris fashion house suspended the designer following his arrest at a Parisian cafe. Galliano was accused of assault and making anti-Semitic remarks.
The following day Galliano spoke out against the label's actions and then a separate complaint was filed. Monday morning a video surfaced of the designer uttering expletives and saying "I love Hitler" while making references to people being "gassed".
"Today, based on the odious behavior and the comments made by John Galliano in a video made public on Monday, the Christian Dior house has decided to lay him off and commence the formal dismissal prodedure." - Sidney Toledano, Dior’s president and chief executive officer
John Galliano has worked for Dior since 1996. He joined the Paris fashion house after one year as couturier at Givenchy.
