The annual CFDA Awards is a night for America's top fashion designers to shine. Back in March the nominations were announced and last night it was finally time for the big ceremony. The big bash, held at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, was a fashionable mix of awards and rememberance as the celeb filled crowd took a few moments to honour legendary designer Alexander McQueen, whose suicide in February shocked the entire fashion industry. Sarah Jessica Parker told the audience that it was with "honor and great regret" that she was there to mark the contribution and creativity the designer gave to his industry.

Here’s the list of winners as selected by the Council of Fashion Designers of America:

Womenswear Designer Of The Year: Marc Jacobs
Menswear Designer Of The Year: Rag & Bone's Marcus Wainwright and David Neville
Accessory Designer Of The Year: Alexis Bittar
Swarovski Award For Womenswear (Honoring Emerging Talent): Jason Wu
Swarovski Award For Menswear (Honoring Emerging Talent): Richard Chai
Swarovski Award For Accessory Design (Honoring Emerging Talent): Alexander Wang
International Award: Christopher Bailey
Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award: Michael Kors
Eleanor Lambert Award: Tonne Goodman
Eugenia Sheppard Award: Kim Hastreiter
CFDA Board Of Director's Special Tribute Award: Alexander McQueen
Fashion Icon Award: Iman

Here's a few of my faves from the 2010 CFDA red carpet:

If you are a fan of Sarah Jessica Parker than you are about to get your fill of her. With Sex And The City 2 hitting theatres at the end of next month we are about to go into SJP overdrive. Expect to see Sarah's face start to pop up everywhere to promote the fashionable flick.

Things are getting started with Vogue. In the May issue of the magazine SJP graces the cover and is featured in an incredible fashion spread inside which was shot by famed photographer Mario Testino. Of course it coincides with the release of her new movie but the feature is also intended to honor the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s ‘American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity’ exhibit.

Here’s a look at the cover and some of the shots inside:

Monday in Paris continued on with a gorgeous 2010 fall/winter collection from one of my fave designers. Giambattista Valli was one of many designers to bring a little retro to the Paris catwalks with their 60's inspired collection. As with most Giambattista Valli this collection was all about the elaborate details.
