LOVAS: Wesley Badanjak

I am officially a fan of Wesley Badanjak. This afternoon the young designer presented an incredibly strong collection to an eager Toronto crowd. I can truly say that I adored the presentation. The collection was entitled "Behind the Gates" and the pieces Wesley created were actually inspired by memories and photographs of his paternal grandmother, Cecilija Badanjak.

Memorable pieces that came down the runway included two fantastic winter white wool jackets which appeared in the beginning of the show. There were pencil skirts, sweater dresses and there was my favourite piece... an incredibly elegant black brocade dress. Also seen were hand knit merino wool leggings and grey flannel boyfriend pants for the more casual client and black micro-sequin leggings and sequin dresses for those wanting a look that screams sexy, edgy and uber trendy.

The fabrics were gorgeous and all of the pieces were feminine and so glamorous. The tailoring... well it was truly impeccable.

Love the dress shown with the fur shawl. Wesley's stuff is always great.. interesting background on his inspiration.
