It was just days ago that we got a look at Roberto Cavalli's "Just Cavalli" line when they presented their 2010 fall/winter collection on Thursday... now it was time to see what Cavalli delivered for his signature line.
Let me tell you there were animal prints everywhere! The Roberto Cavalli collection was outrageous and incredibly sexy... as expected.

Gucci, Gucci, Gucci. Frida Giannini delivered her most polished collection since joining the company when she presented Gucci's 2010 fall/winter collection on Saturday afternoon. The collection was oh so glamourous with the relaxed luxury of the pieces that came down the runway.
Gucci was indeed gorgeous.

Show: Giorgio Armani

The Giorgio Armani 2010 fall/winter presentation was interesting. There were vivid colours and interesting structure to many of the pieces that came stomping down the runway.
The program notes for the fall/winter collection stated that the clothes were "The New Chic”... I guess time will tell but "new chic" and Giorgio Armani don't really go together that well if you ask me.

Show: Versace

Leave it to Versace to bring the sex to Milan fashion week. Donatella and the iconic label brought a little biker chic to the runways with their 2010 fall/winter Versace collection. The show started off with a Harley revving up bringing out models who strutted down the runway in sexy skin tight ensembles. Skin tight suede pants and lots of leather. Later in the show the audience was treated to futuristic looks for evening which included figure-hugging gowns in vibrant blue, green, yellow, red and pink.
The collection was classic Versace.

Show: Emporio Armani

Soft, feminine and flirtatious. Those are three words to describe the 2010 fall/winter Emporio Armani collection that was shown Friday afternoon in Milan. The looks were simple... not overly excessive and all done in a colour palette that included grey, lilac, black, white and flashes of mango.
A strong showing for Emporio Armani.

Show: Alberta Ferretti

The Alberta Ferretti 2010 fall/winter collection was all about glamour for me. So many red carpet worthy gowns came down the runway it was mind-boggling. The flowing gowns were done in a colour palette of nudes, greys and black... the details throughout the many of the gowns was incredible.
Expect to see a lot of Alberta Ferretti on the red carpet in the coming months.

Show: Dsquared2

If you’re Canadian and you love fashion... chances are you have a mild obsession with Dean and Dan Caten. Friday morning the fashionable brothers brought their 2010 Dsquared2 fall/winter collection to the runways of Milan and the boys delivered a phenomenal collection... as usual. While the show notes cited influences ranging from The Matrix to Jekyll and Hyde this collection was anything but confusing. The clothes, which were mostly black and gray some with red leather accents, were slick and sexy with almost a forties feel.
The “show” began with a black curtain opening revealing a caged model who, after a puff of smoke, came out of her cage to be greeted by 2 hunks in skimpy gold briefs. The show had begun and the model was wearing a fur-trimmed black coat and a pair of red panties. The rest of the collection was less sexual and more seductive. Pieces included beautifully draped mini-dresses, strapless dresses, high–waisted leather jackets and lots of fringes. Everything was simply stunning and oozing with excess. Show: Prada

Last night the 2010 fall/winter collection from Prada definitely proved to be a highlight for Milan’s Fashion Week. The impressive collection was “pretty” and filled with classic Prada styles with a slight twist. For day there were little jackets with matching skirts, sweater dresses, lots of belts and chunky cable knit sweaters. Of course the most interesting pieces were the very interesting skirts and suits that looked like shiny vinyl... but were actually jersey laminated with plastic. Fascinating. For the evening we got true Prada glamour.
There was a definite 60’s theme going on and pieces featured either bright abstract geometric prints or typical muddy fall colours. I do love those hues. The swept up beehive hair, the shiny handbags, stiletto heels and patent-belted waists were all very Mad Men. There was no skin on the runway but still the show was incredibly sexy... something only Miuccia Prada seems to be able to do.

The 2010 fall/winter D&G collection started off with a truly stunning video of snow-capped peaks. It was a winter collection and designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana definitely know how to set the tone at their shows. Boom... before you knew it models were strutting their stuff down the Milan catwalk wearing a pieces from the fun winter white, black, grey and red coloured collection. There were fitted cropped sweaters, cabled turtlenecks, sexy cable-knit bodysuits, chiffon tie-neck blouses, belted dresses and of course over-the-top knee-high fur boots.
Basically the shows message was get ready for an incredibly stylish après-ski experience.

Show: Fendi

The Fendi fall/winter collection presented on Thursday afternoon was once again... all about fur. What was different this time around was the 2010 collection was slightly more innovative combining fur with luxurious fabrics. Think large patches of fur interspersed with rich fabrics to create a fashion mosaic. Underneath the furs you could find a variety of ballerina skirts, Circular skirts, skin tight suede leggings and belted tops.
Also worthy of nothing... this was the first time in a very long time that Fendi made heavy use of the in your face double "F" logo. Looks like according to Fendi the recession is long over and excess and luxury are on the way back. For example one of the patched up luxury furs will cost: 250,000 euros.
