I started Day 3 of Toronto Fashion Week with the 2:00pm Paul Hardy show. I wasn't sure what to expect for this collection from the Calgary designer. but he delivered a creamy collection of spring and summer wears that he called "Patriarchal Femininity". Appropriate given the unconventional styling of the models. Gorgeous girls sported pencil drawn moustaches and thick eyebrows. a harsh contrast to the delicate cream and ivory creations. There were structured military jackets but the majority of the line simply seemed to float down the catwalk. Skirts, dresses, cropped pants. It was all truly a nice surprise.

Next up was an "Urban Nomad" collection courtesy of designer Réva Mivasagar. An interesting collection that had 7 unique looks which was fairly fluid. although I will admit my personal favourites were the designer's gorgeous blanc canvas story and a stunning collection of black and white which featured exquisite beadwork. Overall it was a strong showing for the designer who is a newcomer to Toronto.

All eyes were on the grouping of buff Vespa boys who stood at the backend of the catwalk and served as a backdrop for Wesley Badanjak's LOVAS theme of the Adriatic Sea. It was a cute and simple collection filled with bright colours, whimsical patterns (like this one below) and playful plaid prints.

Halifax designer Katrina Tuttle served up summer colours and fresh prints when her showcase hit the stage at 5:00pm. There were vibrant pinks, purple, aqua and yellow cocktail dresses that were flirty and fun as well as more elegant black and white dresses, most with gorgeous detailing at the bust.

Sears. Yes Sears. made their Toronto Fashion Week debut tonight by sending pieces from their revamped Attitude label down the catwalk. The label was inherited from Eaton's when they went out of business years ago. but nothing has ever been done with it until now. The spring offerings were surprisingly effortless and moderately stylish in black and white. The audience was impressed, as was I. Especially when the entire design team walked out on stage for their applause.
